  • Something old, something new, something borrowed, something brewed…

During a sweltering Sumerian summer a clay vessel of grain and water, estranged from its kilned brethren, lay out alone. Underneath its liquid surface a microbial militia were hard at work. Unassumingly consumed days later, a layman stumbled into his village slurring and sharing the euphoric properties his mighty potion held. The journey began from that moment to then recreate this drink and domesticate grain for it’s sole use. This moment marked the beginning of a series of events that have allowed millions through time to enjoy variations and eventually the well crafted libations that the world has to offer today.

This is not only a possible excerpt of primitive beer history, but it’s history in the making for us here at Roc Brewing. This past weekend we were fortunate enough to carve out our piece of beer history too. As we careened through the brewery at Rohrbachs Brewing Co., the wort eventually made its maiden voyage through turbulent tubes as it filled the proverbial conical dry docks, where she lies currently.

We’re excited to unveil the S.S. Golden Ale at a special event in the coming weeks. Stayed tuned as the voyage begins…

    RBC, out.
